In regard to: [Networker] Legato linux client for Debian x86_64...:
Here is a summary of what I have done to date, the problems show up at
the bottom of this exposition ....
uname -a
Linux lxmv10 2.6.17-10-generic #2 SMP Fri Oct 13 15:34:39 UTC 2006
x86_64 GNU/Linux
Selecting previously deselected package lgtoclnt.
(Reading database ... 104385 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking lgtoclnt (from lgtoclnt_7.3.2-2_amd64.deb) ...
Setting up lgtoclnt (7.3.2-2) ...
/bin/ln: creating symbolic link `/etc/init.d/rc3.d/S95networker' to
`/etc/init.d/networker': No such file or directory
/bin/ln: creating symbolic link `/etc/init.d/rc3.d/K05networker' to
`/etc/init.d/networker': No such file or directory
/bin/ln: creating symbolic link `/etc/init.d/rc5.d/S95networker' to
`/etc/init.d/networker': No such file or directory
/bin/ln: creating symbolic link `/etc/init.d/rc5.d/K05networker' to
`/etc/init.d/networker': No such file or directory
Well, that's probably a problem.
I've never used alien and I'm not a debian user, but I have a vague
recollection of hearing that alien doesn't (or doesn't always) translate
%post/%pre/%postun/%preun scripts from RPMs.
Also, I don't see /usr/lib/nsr/poin.cln in your list of files. That's the
"poinstallation client" script that gets run (with an RPM, it's done
(*incorrectly*, sigh) in the %post script).
So, if you figure out why that script isn't present, and get to the point
where you have it on your system and can run it (as root), that might
help.
