Good day list

Is there any way/script I can run to check the integrity of my backups

I had a SCSI bus reset problem recently which made my backups useless,
after showing that they completed successful.

I don't have a script to do this, but I was just asked for exactly the same thing by my manager as a precaution to avoid the problem you just cited. What I am thinking of doing is putting a few files in a directory on a client, on each disk or partition on that client, then touching each test file every day via a scheduled job on that client. Then all I think I need to do is set up another scheduled job to recover the most recent backup of those files into the same directory where they reside and simply do a diff of the recovered files against the original copy, and if the diff finds any differences, sent out alerts to people, and delete the recovered files if they are okay. Its not fool proof, but it should work.
