There are several different components to a volume's status in
Networker.  It sounds like you're interested in a particular portion.
Can you provide more detail (like some examples)?

The "state" is only active, recyclable, manually recyclable, archive,
and some combinations.  But the data on a tape (full/nonfull), and and
some of the flags (dirty,read-only), may contribute to the status (among
others).
