Am I the only one who finds it strange that it's impossible to do a
complete recovery using enterprise-level backup software?
No, here I am! ;-)
What I love:
- do a 'sfc /cachesize=0' and a 'sfc /purgecache' on a Windows 2000 machine
('A')
- reboot
- run a full backup
- do a fresh install of another Windows 2000 machine ('B'), but do not
install the accessories
- recover everything or A's data to B
- result: wordpad.exe is missing, although it is on host A
It is a long time ago that I had seen this, but it is - ehm... funny
somehow. I think this was with a 6.1.4 server and client.
