 1. Why would increasing the number of channels be beneficial and what are the 
 justifications for doing this?

Do channels mutistream one database  and use networker parallelism to stream 
onto multiple drives(as per target sessions)? How do we define client(database 
server) savesets in networker? How much time does RMAN take to feed the data to 
networker/drives, once savegrp starts? Where can we find database backup 
benchmanrks for avg data throughput, data structure, compression,encryption, 
backup and restore window times etc.,
