Mounts are specific to the user logged in. As soon as that user logged
no logger, the mount no longer exists, unlike NFS. You can hack the
register to setup system wide mounts, but there are issues with that as
well. The networker process runs as another user as well, so it has
another context. Maybe someone on the list can specify how they hacked
it to work.

Infrant supports NDMP. You will have to buy an NDMP license, but NDMP is
a much better way to backup a NAS device.

Subject: [Networker] Back up Infrant NAS via Windows/CIFS?

One of my colleagues has an Infrant NAS device which they need to back
up. My thought was to back it up via CIFS, using a Windows client as the
front end.

I'm pretty sure people have done this before. I'm doing something
similar with a Netapp via NFS. However we can't make it work.

We mounted the NAS volume as drive Z, and we've explicitly listed the
drives in the client config, including "Z:\". However, the "save" of Z:\
exits with a return code of 1, without a better explanation. We tried
specifying a subfolder, and I noticed that it claimed it didn't exist,
which I don't believe we saw when doing the whole drive.

Is this possible?
