Thanks Raymond and Randy,

Regarding the Authentication methods, I have been digging there since you
answered, and even though the chapter on Access privileges for
Authentication Configuration (chapter 18 pg 564 on multiplatform admin) was
very enlightening, it seems my login user was already included in the
administrators list so there was little to fish there. I am going to
continue reading.

Re. the firewall connection as Randy has suggested, there is nothing else
but to go back and check every log once more. There must be something there.

If I find something special to put a finger on, I'll post so the next victim
gets a hint.

Best regards,
Carolina

Hi,

This could be due to the new Authentication methods we are using -
wouldn't guarantee it tho :)

Hi Dirk,

Did you ever get a solution to this "SEVERE" problem? I am migrating
some
clients from a 7.2 server to a 7.3 server, and I get the very same
error. I
can't point it at anything, have checked firewall, servers file,
permissions, set connection ports to 0-0, name resolution .. and a few
other
things. I removed the imported entries and recreated them by hand, in
case
something pointing at the old server came along, to no use. I can't
upgrade
them yet since they still have to run some days on the old server, but I
expect NetWorker to be backwards compatible for at least a few releases!

New clients have absolutely no problem.

I can't see any answer to your message, so I hope you can share some
experiences here?

Best regards,
Carolina
