I just forgot: maybe you have to restart the networker server after that, to
let the nsrmmdbd "merge" the client ids in you media database.
After the first save of fred, you will notice him in the media db with the new
id.

Betreff: AW: [Networker] Creating a new instance of an older client?
Hi George,
notice the clientid of the new client fred.
delete client fred.
switch on hidden attributes.
create a new client, may also be a dummy machine, on which you install
NetWorker for 5 minutes and networker server can reach this machine. In the
client id field, fill in the id of fred.
Now create fred again, he will get a new client id, now.
At least, delete the dummy client.
I testet this a couple of times, this is the shortest way to get a new client
id for an once created client.

Betreff: [Networker] Creating a new instance of an older client?
How can I create a new client if a client with that same host name
existed at some point in the past?
I added a new client (fred) using nwadmin. However, there was an old
client named fred that was taken off the backups a long time ago. After
creating the new client, I see that NetWorker assigned it the same
client id as the old fred. Maybe no surprise, but this is now a new
machine with the same host name, so I'd like it to have a different
client id than the previous one, so when I look at save set recover, I
won't see the save sets from before. How can I do this?
Thanks
George
