Ty,

In this case the reference to block size is almost certainly a red herring. The message quotes 32768, well that wouldn't have been the block size used on your previous drives anyway.

You are basically looking at a common or garden i/o error of some kind, related to fibre or SCSI. Don't waste any time messing with any block size settings.

I just made the cut-over from a SCSI-attached L180 (4 x SDLT320) library
connected to a Solaris 8 host, to a FC-attached L500 (4 x LTO3) into 2 x
T2000 hosts.

I now want to continue using my L180 as a "read-only" library for all my
old tapes, so I hooked into an available Dell PowerVault 35F FC-SCSI bridge
and then hooked the bridge into my Brocade 4100 switch (into which all the
other devices and HBAs are attached.)

After zoning the bridge to one of my HBAs, I can see all four SDLT drives
and the changer works just fine, but reading any of my old SDLT tapes
results in block size errors and the inability to successfully restore
data. Here's an example:

I've determined with mt -f /dev/rmt/6cbn config that the st driver is
properly configured (well, at least it's configured enough that a
standalone SDLT320 drive plugged into a SCSI card on the T2000 works just
fine for reads and writes.)

I'm new at the whole FC thing, so I'm probably overlooking something
simple, but I need your help.
