Hi Jim!

Are you running some test on T2000 now?

Regards
Tommy

Tommy, Peter, & list -

We are very close to getting some real live data through our SunFire T2000
/ LTO3 solution - probably in the next couple weeks.

Our setup is
Networker 7.2.1 running on Solaris 10
ADIC i2000 with 10 LTO3 drives (connected to fibre switch via 3
i/o blades @ 2 fibres per blade)
Two SunFire T2000 - each connected to the fibre switch via 2
fibres
We have DDS for all 10 drives, so with the fibre redundancy, each
sun server sees each of the 10 drives twice, so networker sees all 10
drives via 4 different paths
The SunFires each connect to our backup ethernet switch via 10Gig
Ethernet.

I'll do some real testing using just the main server and just 4 drives
(two on each fibre channel) and see what kind of throughput I can get
outta this thing and let this group know how it goes. Thoeretically, this
should work without the T2000 breaking too much of a sweat.

Jim

so far we know the software works, and the hardware is supported by
EMC's matrix and legato HCL.

but as for what happens under real load we are still in the dark -
someone has suggested we may have a problem due to the CPU cores each
having a much smaller cache than US IV+ cores although I wouldnt have
thought so - I am planning some tests via ethernet in- ethernet out....
i would really prefer to test the ethernet in, FC out scenario, but we
dont have a test SAN just now.

The cowboy side of me is saying to just deploy one live and see how it
goes...
