Hello,
Looks like you need to look at the timeout values on your devices, double 
check if the correct drivers are loaded in device manager.
Not sure why you are still on real old version of Legato.
Next, check and make sure if you really need removable storage manager 
disabled or not, since you tried Nt backup i think it's still on.
If all does not work out, you need to double check scsi HBA values and 
make sure they are confirming, i.e i had to drop my HBA speed from 180 to 
80 for LTO1 drives, this was recomended by Adaptec in certain enviroments.
Domain Validation etc, you may actually have to drop the speed to ASYNC on 
the path where and if library robot is configured, since this 
communications tend to be real slow and faster bus speed on this devices 
can cause issues.
