I have actually complained to their support desk and also in a Customer
Service survey, and was told it would improve "in the new version coming
out... " (you get the idea). My perception is they don't want to have to
start over. The product is very good when it works well, and they want
to get the max out of their investment to date. But the Win GUI is circa
NT4, and the complexity of their command-line switching is infuriatingly
mind-altering. I have used the unix GUI a bit, and found it flawed too,
but in different ways which I don't exactly recall. Some users might
want to use both.

Perhaps the problem is that the underlying infrastructure on Windows is
so flawed. I also doubt Legato or any other major software developer is
going to be spending a lot of effort developing new products for Windows
until Windows Vista's situation is firmly established by Microsoft.

Honestly, if I had to administer a Legato server on Windows, my first
order of business would be either to replace that server with a Linux
box or find another job.
