Dear list,

I am faced with the task of scanning several hundred DLT tapes back into a
legato server that lost its indexes when it was upgraded from version 5 to
6.1.3 many years ago.

I can write a basic batch file that loads and tape without mounting,
executes scanner and unloads it, but the problem I have is that scanner
pauses at the end with a prompt to put the next tape in or exit. I want
scanner to exit once finished so the script can unload the tape and
continue working, there doesnt appear to be any command line switch to
make scanner terminate once finished.

To my mind, this is a massive oversight on Legatos behalf - scanning tapes
is a tedious process at best, using an autoloader is the obvious answer.

Cheers,
Matt
