Grrr...just having fun this week...still working on the index
problem...but here is another one...
I've got a Networker 7.2.1 installation running on a Linux box (Fedora
Core 4), with the 2.6.16 kernel.
I know there can be issues with the 2.6 kernel series, but from
discussions here it mostly pertained to autochangers. This has a single
DLT7000 drive.
The system previously ran Red Hat 9 (2.4 kernel) and 7.1.2 without issues.
Now, when writing out the tapes they are getting marked full long before
their capacity is being reached. Out of 4 DLT IV tapes (35/70GB), I'm
getting 11-23GB.
I'm getting the following in /var/log/messages. Is this just because of
the kernel? Or is something else at fault? The tape drive cleaning light
is not on, but I do have a cleaning cart on order.
