Why not just upgrade your existing Scalar 100 to FC and LTO-2?
I am currently backing up ~6TB weekly to 2 Scalar 100's with 6
SCSI LTO-2 drives, and it has been rock solid.

Hello All- We are looking for a new hardware solution to go with
Networker. Our current setup is NW 7.1.3, Win2k SP4 server and an ADIC
Scalar 100 with 2 LTO1 drives. We have W2k/2k3, UNIX and Linux clients.
Our data has increased to ~750GB and we are adding some databases soon
which will put us up into the 1TB realm. The old girl (ADIC) cannot keep
up anymore.
We are looking at adding a Linux database server attached to a SAN (SAN
vendor unknown at this point) via Fibre Channel. We also have an
EqualLogic SAN which our Windows servers are attached to now via iSCSI.
We are looking to do disk-disk snapshots and back up those images to
tape (probably LTO2 in order to preserve the investment in all our LTO1
media). We would like to attach the SANs directly to the library/hw
solution if possible.
Spectralogic's T120 w/4 LTO2 drives has been suggested to us already.
Suggestions on solutions, or good research websites that compare backup
solutions are much appreciated.
Thanx
