Haven't tried it to be 100% sure, but I'm 99% certain that this will overwrite
the previous version. The media database hasn't changed (substantially)
between versions, just the form of the resource database, and there's no simple
way to merge NW servers.
Cheers,
Stuart.

Subject: [Networker] Merging old database in with new one?
Hi,
If you recover the bootsrap from server A (6.1.1) onto server B (7.2.1;
server B has same host name and IP while server A is shut down) using
the standard 'mmrecov' command then what happens to the previous media
and resource databases on server B that existed prior?
It used to be that 'nsr.res' and 'nsrjb.res' were recovered as
'nsr.res.R' and 'nsrjb.res.R' so no automatic overwrite, but you'd then
shut down the server, move the respective '.R' files into place as
'nsr.res' and 'nsrjb.res' to overwrite the old ones and then restart, so
it was never a merge, always a manual overwrite. I assume, however, that
even with 6.1.1 and earlier that during mmrecov the media database would
always get overwritten and there was no merge, correct? Now that we have
a /nsr/res/nsrdb under 7.2.1 what happens if you run mmrecov? Is there a
merge of the recovered database with the one that exists on disk or just
an overwrite?
