Davina,

There are hosts file entries on both the server and the node. My
understanding of name resolution on Windows is that if entries exist in
the hosts files these will be used and not DNS.

The host file entries look good but the servers file on the node has a
short name and long name whereas the servers file on the server has a
short name and two different long names, one of which matches the long
name in the servers file on the node.

Regards,

Paul Esson

Not sure exactly what this problem would be, but it could be that there
is a problem with the nsrmmd on the node communicating with the server.
I would start by checking that all the forward and reverse DNS lookups
work both ways between the server and the node, checking the servers
file on the node, and restarting the NetWorker service on the node. Try
connecting to the nsrexecd service on the node from the server using
echo | nsradmin -p 390113 -s storagenodename
and see whether you get the expected responses.
