Thanks all for the quick reponses.
My requirment is as minimum user interaction as possible.
What I'm looking for is some kind of remote console logging mechanism that
I can monitor in real-time and parse the output for notification.  I don't
know if Networker supports something like that.

There have already been some great suggestions.  You might also consider:

- NetWorker supports SNMP, though it might require an additional license.
  I haven't played with that in years, so I don't know what OIDs are
  available for both traps and polls.  The information you're looking for
  might not be in there.

- You can always run "nsradmin" (remotely) and query some of the hidden
  attributes like "worklist".  Running that periodically isn't real time,
  but the output would be relatively easy to parse.
