When you create the client make sure the short and long names are in the client
alias definitions tab as per DNS , this should bypass the requirement to change
the local hosts file.

Subject: [Networker] cannot create client

Hi,

I cannot create a client on our NW 7.1.4 server, I always get a "create
failed" and "should be valid hostname". The DNS is set up properly, both
forward and reverse, and the server resolves both A and PTR. Any ideas?
