Sounds about right, setting the location a something other than your
current library, but I would mark them read only also...

This makes more sense from my understanding of Networker. I don't care
if the data on the tape falls out of the media / saveset database in a
few months. My goal is to swap in a complete set of new tapes and to
have Networker never ask for an old tape UNLESS I need to do a recovery
off of it. Beyond my short three month rention window I don't care about

the old tapes.

Given that it sounds like my plan should be:

1) mark all tapes as full
2) mark all tapes as manual recycle
3) set the location to something notable
4) remove the physical media
5) label / inventory new media

Given the above I would expect Networker to never ask for the tapes
unless I needed to recover data from them. In three months when the
retention period is up the tapes can be dropped from the media database
before being bulk wiped and trashed.

I think this is sane, and I appreciate the crash course in basics.
