[Networker] NDMP backup to nonNDMP device on storage node

Using DSA backup to backup a Celerra volume/mount point to a nonNDMP
device connected to the backup server succeeds.
However, if the saveset is directed to a nonNDMP device on a storage
node the nsrmmd handling the devices hangs the device.
I wonder if anyone has attempted and succeeded to do a NDMP backup to a
nonNDMP device connected to a storage node (tape or file device).
