Are you say uasm <device> will tell me if there are any 'bad' records on
the tape?  I have 5 AIT2 tapes for this backup...this backup is for only
1 drive on our file cluster.  Just mount the tape and run the command
you say...???

uasm <device>

will do sanity checking of the tape.
