Anyone have a good (Linux) stinit.def entry for LTO-3 drives that they're
willing to share? If it matters, we've got manufacturer="HP" and
model="Ultrium 3-SCSI".
We've received a preliminary entry from our hardware vendor
(StorageTek/Sun), but it took a while to get and seems incomplete now that
we have it -- it only defines mode=1 and doesn't specify whether or not
compression is enabled for that mode. Moreover, it doesn't explicitly
set "buffer-writes", "async-writes", or "read-ahead". Every entry I've
ever seen always sets these three settings to on (1), so I'm wondering if
someone might comment on whether are appropriate (or not) for LTO.
Thanks!
Tim
