We've done that ... or rather, had STK do it. Not a big deal. You'll have to
decide whether you want to buy a fibre upgrade for the robot arm or leave it
SCSI.

First make sure the infrastructure is in place: fibre cables, switches,
server/storage node HBAs. If possible, test all these components beforehand.

On the day of the upgrade, unload the drives, delete the NetWorker jukebox
definition and delete the drives. While STK is doing the upgrade, you can
remove the old DLT tapes from the library and insert new LTO tapes. When STK
is done, you'll probably have to reboot the server/storage node to get it to
see the new drives and assign OS devices to them. Before rebooting you
probably want to disable autostartup of the NetWorker software.

First step after the reboot is to run inquire to be sure you see the
autochanger and all the drives. Then determine the drive mapping; i.e.,
which OS device represents which physical drive. Finally, start NetWorker
and run jbconfig to configure the jukebox. Enter the OS devices in their
physical order, starting with drive #1.

Voila! A brand new fibre-attached LTO-3 jukebox!

Good luck,
