Re: [Networker] Fuji brand LTO-2

I have not seen large batches of write errors on our Fuji LTO2s.
We do get an occasional write errors on the tapes though. Normal savesets
with Networker's write failure algorithm and possibly FCP error recovery
on the fiber cards handle these errors well with Networker starting those
savesets over on another tape.
We also get occasional new tapes that Networker cannot label. Again,
not a big percentage but some nonetheless.
You seem to be getting write errors on every tape though? I would say
yes, try a sample of another brand and see how you do.
I would also run the LTO2's internal "E" test on a tape...If that tape
passes, then label it in Networker and see it does.

problem with the tape drives, both are now replaced and firmware/microcode
are also upgraded to the latest. The adapter and drive SCSI drivers are
also up to date and properly loaded in the kernel.

compression. I even switched the drive - Unix is /dev/nst0 before and now
assigned to /dev/nst1, but still getting the same error/problems. So the
Fuji brand might have some issues with compression
