I am on this whole "DEFRAG YOUR SERVER HDs KICK" so forgive me if you
see that part of my response a lot.

When I ran a report on our fairly new Exchange server Executive software
said the drive was defragged 10014% LOL horrible math and it (ES
program) promised that performance was degraded over 400%.

Well I ran an online defrag which took almost 10 hours, ran it the
second time it took 20 minutes the third time defrag was done
immediately...

My backup time was cut by almost 2 hours. /shrug Although it is not the
cure for everything it is a performance help...Defrags work! /ALE
