It is a common mistake to assume that the volume would be recycled immediately after all the savesets residing on it get past their
retention periods.
You should keep in mind that there might be savesets (that are not necessarily located on the volume in question) that may depend on
this particular volume.
An example is incremental backups depending on the full backup savesets.
This is why normally the volume expires after the next full backup cycle (which
is in most cases happens a week later).
