Uhm, As far as I know you will have to get the Media Database back - basically 
a mmrecov. This carries its own risks as - if you have done any backups since 
your last bootstrap backup these migth be lost.

Once you have the tape back you can do a nsrck -L7 on the specific clients that 
were part of the backup to that tape to get their indexes back.

All in all 'scanner' might end up being faster. And less effort...
