The best I have seen with our Mirapoint message stores backing up to a
Sony PetaSite Sony S-AIT drives is 11MB/s on a system that had no other
activity on it at the time with NetWorker 7.1.x connected via a fibre
bridge to a Sunfire v480 with plenty of RAM and CPU Power to spare. We
tried various things and no matter what we do, such as switching the
Mirapoint box from a 100MB line to a GB line, the throughput is a steady
11MB/s. Our backup hardware can sustain much faster speeds, no problem, as
can our network.
