Thanks to all that replied, including a few offlist. Celerra
NDMP backups work over IP as the do with Netapps, though from
the EMC docs you'd be hard pressed to know.

I'm pretty sure I have the Legato side down, with the required
ENV settings, but there's Celerra side work to be done. Backup
specific parameters must be set, etc. Awaiting a callback from
our EMC SE.

Reiterating:
 We've been backing up Netapps via NDMP for years, so yes we
 have an appropiate amount of NDMP client licenses and
 SnapImage installed and operating.
