Aside from the pools that comes with the Networker software, I created 2
main pools for my clients/groups.

Novell pool for all NetWare, W2K, WinNT and non Unix O/S.
Unix pool for all Unix and Linux servers.

Created groups so that I can start mulitple WinNT, W2K clients at one
start time and assigned that group to Novell pool.

TIA,
Librado

Hi!

Well it depends on how you have configured the unixpool
If you control youre pools via groups the unix pool wont match for
backups
from the novell pool.

What does you pool config look like.

I think this is what's happening. It's the indexes causing the
'default'
pool tape request, but my backup server is under a 'Unix pool' so it
should request for Unix tape instead of a default tape when saving the
client indexes, right?

TIA,
Librado

After backup of the clients, the file indices written to the networker
server will be backed up also. Maybe this is your problem.
You can check if this is the case by viewing the running processes
while
networker requests the Default-pool-tape. If there is a process
running
saying something like saving a file index, you have to assure that the
file
indices (i.e. the backup server as a client) can be written to the
desired
pool.

Ingo
