Dear Experts,

I am installing legato networker 7.1 on a new machine (solaris8, hostname
iris) and try to backup from existing clients (also Solaris8) running
version 5.5.

local backups (client=iris) are no problem. backups from the clients fail
with the following message:

* maia:/export/versant 1 retry attempted
* maia:/export/versant Host iris cannot request command execution
* maia:/export/versant 02/23/05 11:56:19 nsrexec: Host iris cannot request
command execution
* maia:/export/versant Permission denied


I have already set the "Remote Access" parameter in the client resource to
"root@iris" and also created a file /nsr/res/servers on maia which contains
a list of hostnames, among them iris, one per line. Still not working.

Is there any other prerequisite or restriction that must be observed? Do i
have to restart something after making changes? Basic RPC is no problem,
since i can do rsh without problems. all machines use the same NIS domain.

I should mention that all my clients, including maia, were being accessed
successfully from the old networker server 'maia'.
