Hello Davina!

Have you checked if there are different patch levels for stape on your
HP-UX Storage Nodes?
I have in the past had problems with compression then I started to use
LTO2 drives (MSL6030 with. HP LTO2 drive).
I solved the compression problem then by installing a later stape patch.
Right now I'm using PHKL_29248 on my LTO2 and STK9840B drives.
There is a newer (recommended) one but since I have no problems or don't
need support for newer drive types (like 9840C) I will keep using
PHKL_29248.
