I doubt there'd be an issue.

For the most part, networker doesn't care (or know) about the actual
drive that you're using.  It lets the OS handle most of it.

Networker just has to make sure that it doesn't use the wrong tape for a
particular drive, and it has to be able to detect when the tape fills
up.

As long as you have the latest st patches so that the LTO-2 functioned
properly, I think you'd be fine.
