BTW, do you have any Windows server connected to the SAN=20
who may send bus reset at boot time ? It's an issue I saw more than
once and solved by some entries in the registry for FC-HBA.

You'll need to view details to see it. Also, I believe this was added
in v7 or v7.1.

I don't see this option in our jukebox settings under the GUI. We're
running 6.1.1 for Unix. Just curious if this option was added later? Any
workarounds?

Another thing here, though, and that is what happens if the tape is
rewound -- maybe some kind of bus reset or other glitch -- but maybe not
all the way and NetWorker doesn't know about it? Seems to me in that
case the label would not be overwritten since it didn't go back that
far, but perhaps other data on the tape could be overwritten the next
time NetWorker writes to it if it's not aware that it was partially
rewound? Anyone seen this happen?

Couldn't one simply check the mountability off all tapes each week to
ensure the overwriting of the label has not occurred?

George,

Somethink like that should achieve what
you are trying to do :

$BACKUP_SERVER=3D${ARGV[0]};
$TYPE=3D${ARGV[1]};
$NAME=3D${ARGV[2]};

open (QUERY, ">${BACKUP_SERVER}.tmp") || die "Cannot open '$cmd',$!";
print QUERY "show ";
print QUERY "print type:nsr $TYPE; name: $NAME";
close QUERY;

system ("nsradmin -s ${BACKUP_SERVER} -i ${BACKUP_SERVER}.tmp >
${BACKUP_SERVER}.log");
open(REPORT,"$cmd1 |" ) || die "Cannot open '$cmd1',$!";
while (<REPORT>) {
        print $_
}
close REPORT;=20

Have fun,

Subject: [Networker] How can I do this in perl?

How can I do the equivalent of this shell script in perl?

#!/bin/sh
/usr/sbin/nsradmin -s server -i <<EOF
. type: NSR $1; name: $2
print
EOF

where I'm just printing out the info to standard output and $1 and $2
are passed to the script and would be something like 'client' and
'client_name', or 'group' and 'group_name', etc. I tried all kinds of
open commands with pipes, etc. Nothing seems to work.

Thanks.
