you may try this:
there is a new object added to, i believe, 7.1 and after in the admin
gui (at least in windoze) called "user groups." there you can add either
users or administrators with the syntax <user>@<domain OR hostname>. i
had this for a while and then mysteriously started getting access denied
messages. there is a new syntax for 7.1.2 of the form user=<user>,
host=<host>

this was the fix for my errors per legato "support." give it a shot.

a group of file servers that were working fine until we upgraded the
