Hi Mark,

The ACSLS box is a Sun Ultra60 running Solaris 8. The silo is a StorageTek 9740.
We have one AIX 5.1 Networker server, one AIX 5.1 storage node and one Windows
storage node.
For tape drives we have 10 9840A directly connected vi SCSI to the Networker
server and storage nodes.

The ACSLS install doc starts out simple. Do a pkgadd then run an install
script. Then it gets a bit confusing
with the config scripts, asking for SCSI ids of the drives and some other stuff.

Thanks!

Hi Guy,

What is your ACSLS box connected to? Typically the hardest part is getting the
ACSLS database back and working and restoring the connection to the tape
library. Config variables can be grabbed at anytime using "dv_config -d" and
save them somewhere safe.

If you let me know a bit more about your environment I'll try to help out with
what you need!

Cheers

Mark

Greetings,

My manager has asked me to come up with a contingency plan in case our ACSLS
server breaks and
can't be fixed before the nightly backups begin. He wants to be able to plug in
a spare Sun box,
then load and configure ACSLS. I was wondering if I can tar up the config files
for the spare box.

Any input as to an easy way to do this?

Thanks!
