When you say NT, are you referring to the OS? I have a few Windows
boxes still on NT, but most on W2K or W2K3 server.

I use 6.1.3 everywhere, and am planning to upgrade to 7.1.2. as soon as
I validate DR on our legacy apps.

Has anyone created a roll-back plan? I have to have a contingency to
revert to 6.1.3. if 7.1.2. bombs.

compatibility

My environment is Windows.

Not that I am proud of it - been meaning to get them all updated but the
NT's I have left all seem to require a reboot during update and that is
a hassle - I am running 7.1.0 on Legato server and these on all the
rest. All seems to work - I know I have restored from some of the
clients with 186.

V.7.1.0.Build.230
V.6.0.1.Build.174
V.6.1.0.Build.186

My system was originally installed by our HIS vendor and for some
unknown reason they installed server on all of their file servers - The
7.1 upgrade won't upgrade the NT clients when server is installed - none
of the uninstalls work - Legato helped me through finding all the
references to nsr, Legato & networker in registry then do a fresh
install. That worked but it took several reboots - now that I know what
I need to do I can probably get by with 2 reboots - but in my world even
that is a problem.

I would upgrade the server but then verify your backups that use older
clients - can't trust anybody these days.

If I upgrade my Networker Server software to 7.1, can I still use Client
software version 6.0.1?

I tried looking through Legato's website and didn't see an answer to
this question.
