Understood that it would send additional streams to the working drive.  It
can handle it and would be more efficient.

The group parallelism is set to 0.  I did not want/need it to max at that
level, so it is not one of the config elements in play.

Nope. No pending messages.  Just the list in the Group Control -> Details
window.  As soon as one save set completes, another one from the same client
starts, one at a time :-(.  There is a mix of single disks and storage array
partitions, so, it varies on physical and logical.

I've seen this same group work properly regardless of which day in the
schedule and level of backup.  This is the first time that it has not, to
the best of my knowledge.  It's not exactly prime-time television.

Networker will happily leave the second tape drive alone untill the <drive
paralellism> set for this drive is reached, only then will it consider
another device.

what is the group paralellism (the group the clients are in)
Are the other savesets possible on the same disk (physical or logical).

I expect you have no pending messages for that pool?
