Right.  My (very limited) understanding is that the original product
always used the client time for indexing (as savetime).  The idea of
using the server time came about later, and that's why indexes and all
that other stuff is linked to 'savetime' and not 'sscreate'.

If someone else knew the history for certain, I'd love to know.  Is
'sscreate' in version 4 and 5?  I don't have a copy or a manual from
them any longer.

It's not in 4.x or 5.5.1.
