Hi

I had license D6 and its old one, for oracle 7.x.
Now I have D35 and everything work fine until hacmp switch beetwen
interfaces...."NetWorker Module for WINDOWS!!!!, UNIX Client/1"... its
unix not windows :) but i hope its bug with messages.
probably problem is in aliases configuration.
im still looking for solution.
...maybe someone was fighting with this problem???

In the Unix world at least, there are two "styles" of NMO enabler: The "old
style" is for clients with older versions of the NMO package installed. I
think (but I'm not sure) the "old style" will appear in your registration
list as "NetWorker Module for Oracle, UNIX Client/1", while the "new sytle
appears as "NetWorker Module for Oracle/1". The one way to tell
definitively is to run nsrcap -cnv. The "old style" license type is D6, the
new is D35 (nsrcap returns the same name for both).

Check your enablers with nsrcap and if the type is D6, call Legato
Licensing and ask them to exchange for a D35 enabler.

BTW, if I ever meet up with the Legato "brain" who came up with the
brilliant idea of different, non-compatible enablers for different versions
of the package, I have plenty of tar and feathers ready ...

$ # New Style
$ nsrcap -cnv xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx
Read an enabler:
        name: NetWorker Module for Oracle, UNIX Client/1
        enabler code: xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx
        license type: D35
        demo days:    45 days

nsrcap: License enabler code is valid.

$ # Old Style
$ nsrcap -cnv yyyyyy-yyyyyy-yyyyyy
Read an enabler:
        name: NetWorker Module for Oracle, UNIX Client/1
        enabler code: yyyyyy-yyyyyy-yyyyyy
        license type: D6
        demo days:    45 days

nsrcap: License enabler code is valid.

Hi

And what if i use Online Backup Oracle on aix cluster???
when i start backup i got message:
The feature "NetWorker Module for Oracle, Windows Client/1" is not
properly enabled for client node2.
I suppose that the problem is in network interfaces on cluster but

You need only one Oracle license for multiple instances of Oracle on same
server.

The only things you need to configure twice is the RMAN backup & restore
scripts.

Subject: [Networker] Lincesing Oracle module

I have the next question:
My customer has a machine with Oracle/RMAN (Oracle 8)

This machine has two instancews of Oracle. Both instances share the same
Oracle Home.

My provider of Legato Software says that I need two licences of the

Oracle

Module. Reading the documentation, I understand that I need only one
Lincense.

What is the correct answer? one or two licenses?
