I finally found what the problem is.
Ensure you've got /nsr/tmp/sec/sg/<Group_Name> directory on your NW server (or
another location specified in NetWorker Management Console -> NetWorker Server
-> Group Properties -> Miscellanious
That's where console looks for logs on the server.
Cost me several days to figure this out ;-(

Glen,

I have seen this issue before also. Where you go to try and run lets say a
?Backup Summary over time? report in the ?NetWorker Backup Statistics? reports
or on any other report. When you go to to select your ?server names? they do
not show right? Is this what you are seeing? I used to see this from time to
time but could not come up with a good fix for it short of restarting the
lgto_gst services. They only thing I can recommend is that you change your
default retentions for how long the gst DB holds the data. For that login to
the main console. Click on the ?Reports? button. Then go up to the file menu
and select Reports>Data Retention. (Make sure you do this as the Administrator
user of it will not save properly.)

Hope this info helps.

Thanks Chad

Thanks, Your workaround did work for the Admin console. But I still cannot see
the server name in "Available Servers list" in the reporting section of the
NetWorker Management console. And I cannot see the way to add it manually to
the list (I guess no related data in the lgto_gst.db database. I did strings on
it. I can see the server name but no indexes as for the other server).

The gstd.log reports it is polling the server and does not report any errors. I
wonder what could it be ...

Regards,

Glen

Glen,

We see this issue all the time. Unfortunately I am not sure as to why it
does it either you can try one of the following workaround.

Close out the application and re-login.
Click on the "Archive Requests" tab

When you click on the Archive Requests tab and then back to the other tabs
it usually comes back. For some reason this usually forces a refresh and
will bring it back.

If you are talking about the repots in NMC then I am not sure what you issue
could be. You could try and check all of your retention times for the data
it stores. This should be in the root of the NMC console in the file menu.

Hope this info helps.

Has anyone come across the following issue:

The Management console does not get reporting of one of the managed servers.
Networking seems to be OK, I can administer the server and drill down into
configuration, device management screens. There are no error messages in
gstd.log but we are not getting any backup status reports for this
particular server (the other one with the same configuration works just
fine).
