You may want to check with the SQL admin to see if the id used for backing
up the SQL db has sufficient rights. You are using system, the SQL admin may
have denied permission for it.

Andy,
        Try comparing the settings of the one that works with the one
that doesn't. It may indicate where the problem lies. (maybe something
round saveset or something under the remote tab...)

        Don't forget you need an SQL module for each SQL server (you can
backup several instances from the one box but you need a separate one
for each box).

Regards
Bob

Subject: [Networker] Legato MSSQL module backups

Hi all

Having problems setting up hot backups of MS SQL on Windows 2000,
getting  the following error messages.

 netdev2:MSSQL: 1 retry attempted
* netdev2:MSSQL: Microsoft SQL Server Provider error:
* netdev2:MSSQL:  [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][Shared Memory]SQL
Server does not exist or access denied..
* netdev2:MSSQL:  [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][Shared
Memory]ConnectionOpen (Connect())..
* netdev2:MSSQL:
* netdev2:MSSQL: Cannot login to SQL Server null.

Anyone seen this before? Any pointers would be gratefully received.

We are already backing up other MSSQL servers using this module but the
Windows admin who set these backups up has left :o( Normal backups of
this machine run correctly, dns etc is fine.

Thanks in advance

Andy
