Hi Kim,
We neither deleted tape drive nor done any changes in Networker. We have
only deleted tape drive(/dev/rmt/ocbn) from Solaris and reconfigured after
rebooting the system. Networker automatically detected it.

Thanks,
Srinivas.

OK - thanks, Srinivas.

The nsr daemon should start after the tapes are rediscovered and
reconfigured by Solaris, but I'm curious - Were there any issues with
Networker not finding the tape drives afterwards? Did you have to
delete and reconfigure in Networker as well?

Hi Kim,
We have deleted tape drive from Solaris, rebooted the system and
configured tape drive again. After that it started working fine.

Thanks,
Srinivas.

Hi Srinivas,

We are having the same issues and error messages with Mammoth 2 tapes.
What was the reconfiguring you did?

Advanced thanks!

 Kim

Hi Robert,
The problem has been solved after reconfiguring DLT drive. Now tapes are
filling upto full capacity(around 60GB).

Thanks,
Srinivas.

I think your first default block size is fine; there should be no need
to set it with NSR_DEVICE_BUFFER_SIZE. The default is 131072, you can
do a scanner -nv on the tape and it will report this. The GUI reports
this as 128K.

Are ALL your tapes filling prematurely? It could very well be a bad
tape
or bad drive.
