"max consecutive errors" is a parameter of each device defined within
networker (see any visual administrator: nwadmin or nwadmin.exe). You
can set to wathever you want from 2 to 200.
I have an L25 which every time an unlabeled tape is inventoried, raises
a "No tape label found" error. So I set the parameter to 25, thinking in
the total 24 slots unlabeled being inventoried simultaneously. I think
it's almost irrelevant having occurred a drive failure , whether
networker retries the operation 2 or 25 times.
In case of read or write errors in individual tapes, networker marks
them as full, leaving the device enabled.
