Hi David,

No, the server doesn't need to be SAN attached even though your backup architecture is SAN attached.

The library's control/robotics port can be connected to the server by any means (SCSI, SAN, etc) even though the drives may be SAN attached. You can mix and match the SCSI and SAN attached drives w/in the library w/o any problems.

HOWEVER, the legato server _must_ have at least one tape device connected to it (whether by SCSI, SAN, etc) because by definition a server is also a storage noge.

Hi all,

Only a few question:

In a SAN enviroment , is it mandatory that my Legato server have a HBA conected
to the SAN ?
It´s necesary that my LEgato Server can see the SAN ?

Can I have the "control port" of library conected directly to my Networker
server by SCSI in a SAN enviroment with 3 Storage Nodes?

Thanks in advance

David
