Hi All,
When restoring some data earlier today I got the following problem:
I had to do a recover from the save sets, for that I needed 3 SDLTs.
First tape just went fine, than while reading the second tape,
NetWorker stopped the restore claiming it could read a record of a file
on the tape engaged in the SDLT (220) drive.
Here are the messages logged in /nsr/logs/messages:
Aug 31 11:33:29 bart root: [ID 702911 daemon.notice] NetWorker media:
(warning) /dev/rmt/6cbn reading: I/O error
Aug 31 11:33:33 bart root: [ID 702911 daemon.notice] NetWorker media:
(notice) Volume "Datalogi 855" on device "/dev/rmt/6cbn": Block size is
32768 bytes not 131072 bytes. Verify the device configuration. Tape
positioning by record is disabled.
Aug 31 11:40:24 bart root: [ID 702911 daemon.notice] NetWorker media:
(warning) /dev/rmt/6cbn reading: I/O error
Aug 31 11:40:28 bart root: [ID 702911 daemon.notice] NetWorker media:
(info) can not read record 3886 of file 82 on sdlt tape Datalogi 855
It reminded me a similar problem I had few months ago. Same error. Same
consequences.
I checked both volumes today and it appears that both have 203 GB
written on it. Might be just a coincidence but...
Sounds to me like in both cases, NetWorker couldn't read the all tape.
Did someone already had a similar problem?
Regards,
David
