No Riaan,

Even I had this issue on Solaris, the only way is to stop/kill RMAN services
as the backup actually happens through RMAN script using Legato's Media
Management Layer

Hi There,

I have recently implemented a site with a number of Oracle servers.

One of the hitches I am experencing is that you cannot stop a Oracle RMAN
backup that is currently running from a Windows (2000 server 2003 client
running 712) host.

The admin guide confirms this.

Apart from visiting each and every machine and manually shutting down
services (I dont really want to touch RMAN in a production environment) do
any of you have another way which will work better?

Regards,

Riaan
