Hi,

I've resubmitted this message using a different subject. Previous
subject was:
Host SCSI cards to support Storagetek library?

We'd like to try running some different manufacturer's SE/LVD SCSI host
adapter cards on our Red Hat Linux storage node server to support our
Storagetek L80 tape library (uses 4 Seagate LTO 1 drives). Can anyone
recommend some manufacturers and or specific models of cards?

We've been using the Adaptec 39160 dual channel Ultra 160 cards
(SE/LVD), but would like to try a different manufacturer's card and
driver to test. The card(s) will be going into a 64-bit PCI slot(s) on
the host, and ideally should be able to support two separate channels
Ultra 160. Also will need a driver that support Red Hat Linux. We're
running 7.3 but will be using the Enterprise license soon.

I checked with Storagetek, and they did not have a list of recommended
vendors.

If you are using any of the Storagetek libraries, would be interested to
hear what SCSI host adapter cards you're using and what if any problems
you've experienced with the cards or drivers.

Thanks.

George
