Keep the Adaptecs. I had a similar setup - DL360, Compaq something-scsi
controller (symlogic, i think), and a dell poweredge 132t (oem = adic)
with the same type of drives. The 132T was horrible on the Compaq scsi
controller - b/w was limited, performance suffered, and random tape read
and library scsi errors surfaced.
Moved the unit to an Adaptec 39160. Performance went through the roof.
Can you provide more information about the errors you are seeing? Logs?
Daemon and/or Messages?
